1. Aperçu
Several photo-AI apps recognize meals and estimate nutrients. CarbCam est la seule construite spécifiquement pour les personnes diabétiques – carbohydrates as the primary value, FPU calculation, glycaemic index per item, and most importantly: Intégration Nightscout with before/after BG curve per meal.
The competitors Foodvisor, Bitesnap and SnapCalorie target the general calorie / macro tracking market – good for weight loss, but without BG correlation, without FPU, without Loop / AAPS compatibility.

3. En détail – ce qui rend CarbCam unique
Intégration Nightscout
Every meal is linked to the measured BG curve from your Nightscout server. You see before and after the meal how your glucose actually reacted. Foodvisor & co. are pure estimation apps – they know nothing about your data.
Multiple AI providers + BYOK
Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT, xAI Grok – you choose. Or you bring your own API key, pay the provider directly, skip our quota entirely.
AI calibration
A 50–100% slider adjusts every AI carb estimate to your metabolism. If the AI consistently overshoots by 20% for you, you straighten it once and it fits. You stay in control – the heuristic doesn't learn silently.
Learning insights
Doctor-Mode analyses your BG history per meal type: bolus too early/late, too many/too few carbs, missing FPU extended bolus. Hints, not orders – you always decide the final dose yourself.
Similar meals + overlay comparison
For every new scan CarbCam shows the three closest matches from your history – including their actual BG curves. Stack up to 5 curves on top of each other and instantly see what happened with each variant. Your history becomes a personal knowledge base.

This comparison table was compiled from publicly available information about the respective apps (websites, app-store descriptions, public API docs). We have tried to be fair – but we make CarbCam, so we are not neutral.
